Health, Safety and Good Practice
There are seven Acts of Parliament which are important for Ochil Paws. These are the Animal Welfare Act 2006; Data Protection Act 1988; Trade Descriptions Act 1968: Health and Safely at Work Act 1974; the Dog Fouling (Scotland) Act 2003; the Control of Dogs (Scotland) Act 2010 and Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act 1953. All dogs must be vet checked before coming into the service(s).
All dogs will be required to have a basic level of obedience
All dogs should be house trained except puppies under 16 weeks
All dogs must be up-to-date with vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. Documentary evidence required.
All dogs must be insured. Documentary evidence required.
All dogs must wear a collar and tag at all times.
Dogs must not be aggressive towards people or other dogs.
Dogs should never be left unattended with young children at any time.
Ochil Paws recognises the impact the dog is having on parks and will keep them away from children’s play areas and quiet areas of the park. They will also be kept away from protected or sensitive wildlife areas.
A mobile phone will be carried at all times by Ochil Paws.
Dogs will not be taken out in excessive heat or excessive cold or in very poor weather conditions such as during thunderstorms or gale force winds.
Ochil Paws will be courteous and professional at all times and provide a safe, good quality and reliable service.
